Barnsley have signed Australian international goalkeeper Joe Gauci on loan from Aston Villa for the remainder of the season.
The 24-year-old, who has seven caps for the Socceroos, played in the A League for Adelaide United before joining Villa a year ago.
He has been on the bench regularly in the Premier League and Champions League but his only Villa appearances have been two League Cup ties this season.
Gauci is now likely to compete with Ben Killip for the number one spot, while Jackson Smith is expected to be loaned out. Gauci is the second signing of the January window after Neil Farrugia.
