BARNSLEY registered their first home win in the league since February in a 2-1 win against Bristol Rovers this afternoon.

Goals from Davis Keillor-Dunn and Adam Phillips either side of a disastrous equaliser for the Gas from Ruel Sotiriou gave the Reds all three points.

Deadline Day signing Keillor-Dunn made his debut for the Reds from the start, whilst fellow signing Stephen Humphrys found a place on the bench.

There were three changes from the win at Crawley last weekend, with Sam Cosgrove replacing the injured Max Watters, Keillor-Dunn replacing Kyran Lofthouse and Marc Roberts returning to the 11 in place of Corey O’Keeffe.

The Reds started the better of the two sides with Barry Cotter hitting the target twice in the first five minutes following good link-up play in midfield.

But it was the in-form Adam Phillips who came closest to scoring in the opening ten minutes but saw his header from a DKD corner go just wide.

Just seconds later and DKD opened his account for the Reds.

He was found beautifully by a great flick by Connell before firing it past Josh Griffiths in the Rovers’ net.

The Reds continued to dominate the first half with efforts from Phillips and Dunn coming close.

But in the 37th minute the away side levelled after a mix-up between the two Americans Slonina and Pines left Ruel Sotiriou with an open goal.

It was the second time the two had not communicated well enough in the first half but this time they were punished, and the Reds went into the break at 1-1 despite being on top for the majority of the first half.

Pines was substituted at half-time and replaced by wing-back O’Keeffe who went to the left of the defence.

Eight minutes in and O’Keeffe almost gifted Omochere The Gas’ second.

He somehow managed to head the ball behind him and straight to the Rovers’ number nine who was denied expertly by Slonina with his feet.

Half way through the second half the Reds took the lead.

Adam Phillips continued his great scoring form after heading home a Barry Cotter cross.

He was then immediately substituted off and replaced by Josh Benson.

DKD was subbed off with two minutes remaining of normal time to a huge applause from the home end.

Ex-Manchester City and Celtic winger Scott Sinclair almost levelled for the away side in the 89th minute but saw his curling effort go just wide of the top right hand corner.

The referee added on seven minutes at the end of normal time, but despite a last minute flurry the Reds held onto a 2-1 lead and moved up to third in the league.
