It’s fair to say it’s been a busy few weeks since I last wrote a column for the Chronicle.
The planning for the summer window is something that was at the forefront of my mind from the moment I first spoke to the club in January.
Luckily I inherited a really good recruitment team and the club also strengthened in the football admin department which has meant we entered this window confident that we could deliver the squad that Darrell Clarke requires and the fans deserve.
Earlier in the window we added Conor Hourihane, Marc Roberts, Jackson Smith, Georgie Gent, Gaga Slonina and Kelechi Nwakali – all of whom will play a big part on and off the field this season.
But we always knew it would go to the wire for the forwards we wanted.
Stephen Humphrys joined us on deadline day.
He is a player we had been aware of throughout the window and his versatility up front is going to be an asset to us throughout the rest of the campaign.
I can see Stephen becoming a firm fans' favourite.
Finally we added Davis Keillor-Dunn, a player we have worked hard to sign all summer and someone we feel can make real impact for us.
The deal took time but the board of directors backed us all the way and we finally got our man in the final few hours of a very long window.
I think its also key to highlight that we also managed to keep players at the club that have attracted interest from elsewhere.
We want to build something special here at Oakwell and we feel that this window has been a positive step in the right direction.
When the window closes my attention moves back to helping to build the best coaching, medical and sports science teams we can to support Darrell and the players as well as looking to continue to develop our academy and women’s teams.
