MATTHEW Race smashed a club record 258 not out with 47 boundaries for West Bretton as they beat Scholes and Harley in Division Two of the Barnsley Cricket League.

Race hit 19 sixes and 28 fours from 117 balls while David Hoyle added 52 in Bretton’s 375. Chris Williams took four wickets and Jack Hubery three to dismiss the visitors for 91.

Hoylandswaine dismissed Doncaster Town for 89 in a six-wicket win. William Clegg took five for ten.

Swaine are 22 points clear in first place.

Leaders Rockingham won by 68 runs at Fenwick in Division One.

Matthew Cox made 80 in Rock’s 188 then Lasith Lakshan took four wickets.

Darfield fell 154 runs short chasing 322 at Sheffield Collegiate.

Shayne Townsend took three wickets then Jonny Spurr made 59.

Oliver Blackburn made 105 not out off 108 balls but Elsecar fell 82 runs short chasing 286 against Barnby Dun in Division Three East.

Blackburn hit nine fours and three sixes with Jack Pearson adding 58.

Alfie Gosney scored 108 in a 213-run win for Barnsley Woolley Miners at home to Thurgoland in Division Three North.

Freddie Chapman added 81 in Barnsley’s 303 for five then Thurgoland were bowled out for 90.

Higham chased 139 for a seven-wicket win at Monk Bretton.

Leah Burkinshaw and Tom McInerney took four wickets each then Billy Allen carried his bat with 51 not out. Ben Davis made 50 for the Monks.
