WEST Bretton’s game with Nostell St Oswald in the Pontefract League was apparently called off by the umpires for being ‘too sunny’ with the scores level.

Nostell had matched Bretton’s 235 with five overs and three wickets left when the Premier Division game was abandoned.

West Bretton stated on social media: “Abandoned due to umpire unable to guarantee safety due to low sun.”
