A MAN accused of delivering weapons to rioters last Sunday has been remanded in custody.
Jake Turton, 38, of West Street, Darfield, appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
He is accused of driving a Ford Ranger pick-up truck to the violent scenes at the Holiday Inn Express in Manvers, carrying wood and other debris which rioters used as weapons against the police.
The alleged incident was caught on video by a police helicopter.
Turton - who appeared at court in a blue T-shirt and grey tracksuit bottoms - denied violent disorder, taking a vehicle without consent and having no insurance.
Judge James Gould remanded him in custody and he is set to next appear at Sheffield Crown Court on August 20
