It is fight week in Barnsley as the preparation steps up for Callum Simpson’s historic contest at Oakwell on Saturday – with events planned throughout the week in the town.
The Barnsley man takes on Zak Chelli for the British and Commonwealth super-middleweight titles on Saturday evening.
Simpson has been in London today but is due to return to his hometown for fight week.
On Wednesday, Simpson and Olympian Caroline Dubois – who tops the undercard – are due to attend his original amateur club Barnsley Star on Doncaster Road to lead a community session for local boxers.
The following day, at The Glass Works in Barnsley Town Centre, there will be an open work-out for all fighters from 3pm.
The Glass Works will also host the official weigh-in on Friday from 1pm.
The show is due to take place on Saturday evening and will be live on Sky Sports.
