HOYLANDSWAINE Primary School has undergone a huge transformation in recent years after being rated ‘inadequate’ by Ofsted - and they’re now celebrating every one of their pupils passing their SATs.

In 2022, the school was told by Ofsted that it was ‘inadequate’ and a year later it was taken over by HCAT and became an academy.

Rebecca Paddock subsequently became the executive headteacher, and Chloe Redfearn was appointed as the head of school.

They’ve overseen an almost miraculous turnaround - and they’ve heaped praise on the staff, pupils and parents.

Chloe told the Chronicle: “I started at the school in September but I have worked within HCAT for around ten years.

“We’ve started with an almost completely new staffing team.

“I’ve had a lot of experience with school improvement, and Rebecca came in as the executive headteacher.

“Since HCAT have taken over the main drive and focus has been on improvement.”

After receiving the year six pupils’ SATs results recently, the school were told that each pupils passed all their exams.

“In year six 100 per cent of the children achieved the expected standard,” she added.

“We’ve also had 95 per cent of children in year four passing multiplication and 100 per cent passing their phonics.

“It’s been a very successful year.

“It’s been a lot of hard work from all the staff.

“You’ve got to give all the children credit as well - they’ve all worked so hard.

“The parents have been so supportive as well.”
