Three former Barnsley players were involved as England reached the semi-finals of the European Championships with a penalty shoot-out win over Switzerland.

John Stones, from Thurlstone, could not cut out a cross as Switzerland took the lead on 75 minutes but England levelled soon after then won the shoot-out.

Former Reds loanee Ivan Toney scored one of the penalties, after Kieran Trippier started the game.

England will now play either Turkey or Netherlands on Wednesday in Dortmund.
