A small number of Barnsley non-league sides played over the rainy weekend, with Silkstone United the big winners.

They won 4-1 at Sheffield City in the County Senior Premier Division and are seventh with 22 points from 15 games.

Barnsley Town were thrashed 6-1 at Ecclesfield Red Rose in Division One. Town are third, a point off leaders Ecclesfield with just two points between the top four.

Wombwell Town reserves were 5-1 winners at Sheffield City reserves in Division Two. Charlie Rogerson scored a hat-trick with Lewis Easterbrook netting the other two.

Only three Barnsley Sunday League games went ahead.

Darfield Queen Vic won 3-0 at leaders Birdwell Rovers in the Premier Division. The Ship beat Thurlstone 2-1 in Division One. Pack Horse won 4-1 at Pogmoor in the Challenge Cup.

In the Mexborough Sunday League, Highgate beat Market Tap 8-0 in Division Two. Jonathan Davis scored five with Dean Fenton adding two and Joshua Pashley one.

Queen’s Head Hoyland were 3-0 winners at The New Bank. George Coley netted twice and Brandon Jones once.

Cross Keys Wath won 1-0 at Thurnscoe Tap in the Challenge Cup, thanks to a goal by Simon Tierney.

Ville won 2-1 at Union Jack.
