A BARNSLEY woman nicknamed the ‘Tatie Lady’ has raised hundreds of pounds for Children in Need.

Lauren Jones, 38, runs the Baked Potato Company who are situated in the Wickes car park off Old Mill Lane.

As part of the BBC Children in Need fundraiser, fellow spud extraordinaires The Spud Bros - who have accumulated millions of likes on social media app TikTok - decided to make and sell jacket potatoes for 30 hours straight.

They encouraged other organisations to take part and Lauren decided to do her bit by selling ‘The Spudsey’ - a baked potato with cheese, beans, crispy onions, nacho cheese sauce and colourful mayo.

She managed to raise more than £450 and even had local legend Danny Malin of Rate My Takeaway come down to try it.

She said: “It went really well - we managed to raise just over £450.

“The Spudseys went down really well.

“Danny Malin came down on Friday.

“He loved it - he said it’s quite possibly the best spud he’s ever had.”
