BARNSLEY College has launched a new programme designed to inspire students with entrepreneurial ambitions.
The ‘Futurepreneurs’ scheme provides students with the opportunity to access a business launch grant, hands-on support and tailored challenges to help them develop their skills and turn their business ideas into a reality.
Juliette Bland is one of the students who applied to take part in the project and was inspired to sell environmentally friendly items at local fairs.
She said: “I was inspired to apply for the Futurepreneurs programme because it combines education-based teaching with practical, business-focused learning, creating the perfect balance between academics and real-world experience.”
Lee Perks, the Enterprise team leader overseeing the project, added: “At Barnsley College, we are dedicated to inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs and with BC Futurepreneurs, we are able to provide our students with the resources, funding, and expertise to transform their ideas into a successful business.
“I can’t wait to see what our current group of Futurepreneurs learn, grow and take their first steps as future business leaders.”
