THE best-performing primary schools in Barnsley have been revealed.
Children are assessed at the end of year six as they leave primary school.
The latest performance figures show 61 per cent of children across England reached the expected standard across reading, writing and maths when assessed at the end of the 2023/24 academic year.
In Barnsley this was also 61 per cent.
Hoylandswaine has been named the best-performing primary school as every pupil met the expected standard in reading, writing and maths.
Thurgoland Church of England Primary came in second place while Hunningley Primary Academy was third.
Birdwell Primary School finished in fourth, followed by Summerfields Primary Academy, Silkstone Common and Silkstone Primary School.
St Mary’s C of E Primary School and Cawthorne C of E also scored highly.
