THE Formula E season is into the final straight with Penistone driver Oliver Rowland now in the USA and hoping to bring in points across two races.
Rounds 13 and 14 of the 16-race championship are being held in Portland, Oregon, this weekend and Rowland will be looking to move up the standings from his current place of fourth.
He is just a point behind New Zealand’s Mitch Evans and 11 behind German Pascal Wehrlein.
The leader is another Kiwi in Nick Cassidy, who drives for the Jaguar TCS team.
Nissan driver Rowland has consistently picked up points in the recent rounds but will likely need to finish in the podium places if he is to cement his place in the top three overall.
The season finishes with two races in London on July 20 and 21.
Rowland said: "It's been an all-round very positive season for us as a team, and we're looking to continue this into the penultimate event.
"I've never raced around Portland before, but I'm confident that I can get in tune with the track quickly, so that we can score some good points.
"We know it's likely to be another peloton style race, which we've thrived in during this campaign.
“It's important to stay out of trouble, and to take the chances to overtake when they're on offer at the right time. I've enjoyed these races since the start of the season, and hopefully we can have another strong weekend in Portland."
