Barnsley RUFC were dragged back into the Yorkshire League Three relegation fight after a 19-16 loss at bottom club West Park Leeds on Saturday.
The Shaw Laners are now ninth out of 12, just two points and two places clear of the bottom two with three games left.
They next host Castleford - who are two places and three points above - on March 16.
Meanwhile, Wath lost 14-10 at Baildon in Yorkshire League Two - ending a run of seven successive wins.
They are second, four points behind leaders North Ribblesdale and eight points clear in the top two with three games left.
They need eight points to secure promotion.
Their next game is at home to mid-table Huddersfield Laund Hill on March 16.
Dearne Valley drew 3-3 at home to Hallamshire in their top-of-the-table clash.
