CHILDREN in Hull were thrilled to receive a visit from Barnsley’s own Sam Nixon.
Known for hosting CBBC shows like Copycats and Sam and Mark’s Big Friday Wind-Up, Sam is also a trained chef and serves as the ambassador of bread makers Jacksons of Yorkshire.
Last week he made a trip to McMillan Nursery School to let people sample the company’s new tiger loaf, which was created in partnership with Judith Kerr’s picture book ‘The Tiger Who Came To Tea’.
Sam read the book to the children and hosted a tiger-themed tea party with games, dancing and music.
He said: “It was an absolute pleasure to visit.
“The children were a joy to spend time with and they knew the story inside out.
“Like Jacksons, my recipes are all about bringing families together through food and what better way to do that than with a loaf that features one of the most iconic children’s stories of all time.”
