CAMPAIGNERS who are doing their bit for Gaza’s war-torn residents raised more than £400 in a pre-Christmas collection in the town centre.
Barnsley Palestine Solidarity Campaign’s members thanked generous shoppers for their donations on December 23.
They collected £474 which will go towards providing medical aid.
Tony Nuttall said: “We were all amazed at the support we got from passers-by.
“It was humbling to have numbers of people come up and thank us for being there.
“The amount we collected is an indication of the generosity of Barnsley people and the strength of feeling about the slaughter of 23,000 people and destruction of all hospitals in Gaza by the Israeli armed forces.
“Thank you to all who donated for your generosity and for caring.”
