A FATHER and daughter filmmaking duo are celebrating this week after breaking into the top 40 best-selling Western and war films on Amazon.
Dean Sills, 55, and his daughter, 25-year-old Rebecca, have had more success after the two of them had a number of their films screened at Mexborough Indoor Market and their Western DVD made it to number 38 in the top-seller list.
Rebecca will also be having a local screening of her short film, Regeneration, at The Bluebell Inn, Manvers Way, Wath-upon-Dearne on November 17 at 7.30pm.
She said: “I am very proud of this film.
“A lot of my family appears in the film and it is quite emotional.
“I know people will love it around here.
“We need to keep our history going for the younger generation.
“I would like to thank everyone for the stunning photos and old 8mm films which helped bring my film to life.
“I’d also like to say a massive thank you to The Bluebell Inn.”
A BAFTA-winning drama director will also be judging one of the duo’s films at Scarborough Film Festival next weekend.
Dean added: “This is amazing.
“My parents would take us on holiday to Scarborough and it’s still my favourite seaside resort in the UK, so to have a film screening there in the cinema is pretty special.”
