BARNSLEY stars Katherine Kelly and Shaun Dooley have joined forces to perform in ITV’s new true crime drama.
The Long Shadow, which will be available from next month, depicts the ‘desperate’ five-year- hunt for serial killer Peter Sutcliffe - The Yorkshire Ripper.
It focuses on the lives of the victims who crossed his path and those police officers at the heart of the investigation.
Katherine Kelly plays the part of Emily Jackson, who was murdered by Sutcliffe aged 42 on January 20, 1976.
Whilst Shaun Dooley has taken on the reigns as DCS Chris Gregg.
A spokesperson for ITV said: “With people today holding to account the institutional foundations that foster misogyny, racism, and violence against women, The Long Shadow will speak to the societal issues of the past whilst highlighting alarming parallels between these terrible crimes and tragic events in our more recent history.”
