Adam Phillips is hoping to reach double figures for both goals and assists for Barnsley this season.
The midfielder set up both goals for Slobodan Tedic in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Oxford, taking his tally to eight as well as his nine league goals.
Phillips told the Chronicle: “That’s what I want. I am not going to be selfish, and it’s about the team. But as long as I keep adding to it and helping the team win games, that is all that matters.”
Tedic netted his third and fourth goals of the season, after struggling for gametime before Christmas.
Phillips said: “Boban has been in and out of the squad so I am happy for him to get a couple goals.
“He got his injury then came back and was a different player with more determination. He’s a handful for defenders and he deserves his goals.”
Phillips sent in good crosses from the right wing for both goals. He said: “When you get in those positions you have to deliver it and the strikers are trying to get across the front. It’s good to add more assists to the tally.”
