CHILDREN at a Royston primary school have raised £3,000 for Barnsley Hospice.
The pupils at Parkside Primary Academy, based on Midland Road, took part in the hospice’s Rudolph Run to raise vital funds for the site.
This year’s event has sold out, making it the biggest even the hospice has hosted so far.
The idea is for residents to get dressed up as a reindeer and take part in a sponsored run or walk.
More than 8,000 people have signed up, the hospice’s biggest-ever total.
A spokesperson said: “Thank you so much to the schools, businesses, and groups who are taking part.
“Now the festive season is truly upon us, we are out and about delivering the antlers and noses.”
