TEENAGER Jamie Gill has been representing Ireland under 19s at a rugby league tournament in Italy - despite being three years younger than some of his teammates.
The 16-year-old, who attends Wath Academy, is also highly thought of at Bradford Bulls and is part of their academy set-up after initially playing for the Bolton-upon-Dearne team Dearne Valley Bulldogs.
He has been in Italy as part of the Ireland squad at the European under 19 Championships. They took on England, Wales, France, Italy, Serbia and Ukraine with Gill making a handful of appearances. Ireland eventually won the Shield competition.
Gill also made his debut for the Bulls’ reserves this week.
n Dearne Valley Bulldogs suffered a 54-22 defeat to league champions Sherwood Wolf Hunt on Saturday. The Bulldogs have now concluded their season and finished fourth in Division Five.
Division Four is also complete and Dodworth Miners finished eighth in the ten team league.
They won four of 18 matches.
