Paul Digby has left Barnsley for their Championship rivals Ipswich Town on a free transfer.
The 21-year-old came through the Oakwell youth system and made 25 first team appearances after making his debut as a 16-year-old in 2011. But he struggled for a consistent place in the Reds' League One side and was loaned up a division to Championship Ipswich in January.
He has been converted into a central defender under former Barnsley star Mick McCarthy who is now Ipswich manager and played Digby six times in the loan spell before signing him on a one-year deal.
