Aussie Ryan Williams says he's even hungrier to make his time at Oakwell a success after struggling through the first three months of the season with injury.
Williams, 21, was hailed as the key signing of the summer when he joined on a permanent deal from Fulham.
But a persistent groin injury has restricted his appearances this season to just 29 minutes in the win against Swindon.
Williams says his time on the sidelines has been massively frustrating but maintains he will come back stronger.
He told the Chronicle: "I'm a lot more hungry than what I was in the summer because I'm just dying to play.
"My goal was to come here and do as well as I can for the club and nothing's changed at all.
"I do feel like my body is a lot stronger than what it was when I first came.
"Lee expressed how much he wanted me to come in and how important he thought I could be for the team.
"For him to say that gives me a lot of confidence and I can't wait for this to be over.
"I'm champing at the bit to get out there. "I hate it at the home games because it's frustrating when you want to be out there."
Williams has witnessed the team be inconsistent from the sidelines.
He says he has seen positive signs but when he played his head wasn't in it.
He's now expected to return to full training and feature in some under 21 games in a bid to get some match sharpness. Williams added: "If we kick on from January until May we can still get in the play-offs. I think we've just got to keep digging in and we'll get there eventually.
"I think my head just wasn't in the right place. My body kind of wasn't either. I thought I was but clearly I wasn't. I wasn't confident in how my body was at the time but I am now. It's completely different and a thousand times better.
"The problem with the groin area is that it's all kind of connected so once one things goes wrong other parts can switch off. "We are over it now. I'm glad to see the end of it to be honest."
Williams was impressive at the tip of a midfield diamond in his loan spell with the club but he sees himself fitting in as a winger under Johnson.
He added: "I'll play anywhere for the team. But I can see myself playing out wide. With Dan Crowley in the hole, he can see a pass, so if you make a run you can get on the end of it and then look to square it for Sam (Winnall) or one of the other boys "I will probably get back to full training next Monday and then try and get some under 21 games."
