CLOSURE of the Dodworth bypass has plunged residents on the diversion route into traffic chaos.
The A628 Whinby Road is shut from Higham Lane roundabout to Capitol Park roundabout until February 15.
The closure is to reconstruct Higham Lane roundabout and make it easier for vehicles to get around it. Surfacing, kerb and drainage remedial works are also taking place.
That means bypass traffic is being sent through Dodworth, along Barnsley Road and Michelson Avenue, which is proving to be a nightmare for locals.
They say the increase in traffic is horrendous and morning and evening rush hour is the worst, with queues from the mini roundabout at the bottom of Barnsley Road all the way up to Michelson Avenue.
