THESE two hairdressers will receive early Christmas present tonight when their boss treats the team to an expenses-paid prize-giving evening.
Victoria Myers and Debbie Scotthome will be among more than 35 staff and guests taken to a private awards ceremony at Owston Hall, Doncaster, by employer Cheryl Upperdine.
Gongs will be given for workers in categories such as best customer carer and stylist of the year.
The evening, designed as a thank you to staff at the independent Barber Shop, Hoyland Common, will be black tie and will include a champagne reception before a coach takes guests to Doncaster.
Organiser and husband of Cheryl, Kevin Upperdine said: “Everyone here works hard and trains hard, and we see our role as training them as people not just as hairdressers - we don’t make any money but there you go!”
The awards will include a sit down meal and winners will be presented with trophies and major prizes.
Hairdresser Mario Bosso, who trained Cheryl soon after arriving in town from Italy, will present one of the awards. A donation will be made to Barnsley hospice.
