Wombwell Town stayed in the title race in NCEL Division One with a 5-0 win at Armthorpe Welfare on Saturday.

The scorers were Jordan Kershaw, Owen Fieldsend, Joshua Nodder, twice, and Jack Dando.

Town are third in the table, four points off leaders Horbury Town - who have played an extra game - and behind Wakefield on goal difference, with one side to be promoted automatically.

Rec have two league games left on Tuesday and Saturday.

Dearne and District, who were already assured of a place in the play-offs, won 2-1 at home to Shelley.

An own goal and Bayley Lowe put the hosts 2-0 up.

Dearne will definitely finish fourth.

Worsbrough Bridge can no longer finish in the play-offs.

They lost 4-1 at relegated Appleby Frodingham on Saturday.

They were 3-0 down at the break then, after Keelan Grist replied, conceded another late on.

They are seventh with 69 points, seven off the top five.

Athersley lost 2-0 at home to title-challengers Wakefield.
