YOU will be getting deja vu with Trinity Players’ latest production.

‘It’s Deja View... Again’ is a comedy written during Covid lockdowns by a Sheffield thespian known locally as the Stannington Scribbler aka Henry Petherwick.

Since then, however the original play has gained a sequel, been serialised and come to the attention of certain production companies.

“I learned of It’s Deja View... Again because I’ve taken part in Stannington Players and Trinity Players’ productions for many years,” said director, Jane Laverack.

“And when Stannington staged it, I told Henry how much I’d loved watching it and he readily invited Trinity to stage it.

“That was before we learned it could be heading for greater things.

“I’ve now got a very funny play and a talented nine-strong cast and am keen to see if a Barnsley audience helps it on its way to television.”

It’s Deja View... Again opens at Trinity Theatre, Crookes Street, Barnsley on Wednesday April 9.
