DAVIS Keillor-Dunn says he will tell his Barnsley team-mates to learn from the current losing run and believes there are ‘so many positives’ for them to still focus on.
The Reds have been beaten by Bristol Rovers, Stevenage and Wycombe following four successive wins.
Striker and top-scorer Keillor-Dunn told the Chronicle: “Over the Christmas period we were so good with four wins on the bounce and I just said: ‘lads, we just need to keep this consistency now.’
“It’s gone against us in the last three games. We could have been a little bit more clinical in the Bristol Rovers game, then see out the next two when we weren’t at our best.
“I will tell the lads we have to learn from it, use it as experience and go again.”
Barnsley lost 2-1 at Wycombe on Tuesday having had Marc Roberts sent off on 66 minutes, then conceded in injury-time.
“We’re deflated, gutted and devastated. We worked so hard for about half an hour with ten men. They are a good side and we made an error for the winner.
“We had a couple of big chances but it just wasn’t our day.”
Roberts’ red card came seconds after a penalty equaliser for a foul by Donovan Pines.
“The sending off was a little bit harsh from my angle.
“I was gutted about the penalty because it’s one ball from a throw-in and simple defending. I think the crowd played a part in it, they (Wycombe) were good at getting around the referee.
“I think it was a little bit soft but I might be biased. They have done us but we’ll use it as medicine.
“I feel we should probably have had five points from the last three games but we’ve had three defeats. We have to stay positive and stick together.”
