A LOCAL sheep has had her 15 minutes of fame after being pictured in both The Times and Sunday Times thanks to the work of a passionate photographer.

The national news making photo was taken by Lindsey Robinson, an activity worker at Wigfield Farm - which is part of Barnsley College - who spends her spare time taking pictures.

“I really like photography,” she told the Chronicle.

“So obviously thanks to my job I get to come out to the farm with all the animals which is just great.”

A lot of her work is put out on social media, but one ‘very cute’ sheep sticking her tongue out received a lot of engagement and saw professionals reach out.

“There’s this mineral lick that the animals really like.

“So I was kneeling in the snow waiting for this one sheep to life her head up.

“I took loads of photos of her, but this one was the best because of the angle and how she was sticking her tongue out.

“We ended up getting a message on X from someone from a news agency - they send content out to national papers.”

To her surprise, the picture ended up featuring in The Times.

“I love photography, it’s a passion of mine, so I can’t believe it.”
