A CHRISTMAS-THEMED comedy put on by a local theatre group raised £500 for charity.
The Hoyland Community Theatre Group’s play - Scrooge the Stingy Old Git - took place at Hoyland Belmont Working Men’s Club over two nights.
A cheque is set to be handed over to Action for Barnsley Homeless.
Tony Swinden, from the group, said: “They were great performances and we’re thrilled Scrooge has changed his ways.”
