THE first delivery of donated ‘bunny gifts’ arrived at Barnsley Hospital’s neonatal and children’s wards.

Annie Eddy and her family wanted to brighten the days of babies and children so over the summer they dedicated themselves to fundraising so they could donate the personalised bunnies to the hospital.

These thoughtful gifts, lovingly crafted with the help of a partner company, will offer comfort to children facing life-limiting illnesses.

The first delivery of bunnies was dropped off by Annie’s mum, Natasha Eddy.

The initiative is a tribute to Noah Blake Rothery, Annie’s beloved nephew, whose resilience and courage touched all who knew him.

Born with Barakat syndrome, hypoparathyroidism and other challenges, Noah spent his two short years bravely fighting against all odds.

He was born in Bedford Hospital and later transferred to Addenbrookes Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where he passed away on November 21, 2023.

Annie, Noah’s aunt, said: “It’s deeply important to me and my family to honour Noah’s memory in a way that might bring solace to other families facing similar journeys.

“We want these bunnies to be a small source of comfort and hope.”

Jane Mills, charity development manager at Barnsley Hospital, expressed her gratitude

“We are incredibly thankful to Annie and her family for their generosity,” she added.

“This tribute to Noah not only honours his memory but also provides comfort and hope to countless families.

“Thank you for your inspiring support.”
