INSPIRATIONAL campaigner Claire Throssell MBE met with two MPs in Parliament this week.
Claire, from Penistone, met with her constituency MP Marie Tidball and Victims Minister Alex Davies-Jones on Tuesday - the day after she hand-delivered a 105,000-strong petition to 10 Downing Street.
Jack and Paul, aged just 12 and nine at the time, were killed by their father after he deliberately started a fire during unsupervised child contact ten years ago.
Marie aid: “I was proud to meet with Alex with my constituent Claire Throssell to talk about preventing known domestic abusers having contact visits with their children.
“The tragic murder of Claire’s two children, Jack and Paul, by their domestically abusive father is a sobering reminder of the fatal consequences of domestic violence, and the current shortfalls in our family court system.
“For too long, domestic abuse, against women, girls, children and men, has been ignored.
“I look forward to working with the government and survivors like Claire to change the law to prevent tragedies like her children’s from ever happening again.”
