Dearne and District won 3-2 at home to Hepworth United in the Sheffield Senior Cup on Tuesday.

Brandon Burke and Justin Circuit put the hosts 2-0 up but the visitors came back to 2-2.

Jamie Austin won it with a penalty in the 88th minute.

Dearne are now due to face Sheffield FC at home in next round.

Meanwhile, Wombwell Town lost 3-2 at home to Wakefield in NCEL Division One.

Eddie Agnew and Owen Sykes had them 2-1 up but they conceded in the 87th and 89th minutes.

Manager Karl Rose said: “We’re gutted. For 85 minutes, we were fantastic and worked hard. Two stupid individual errors have cost us and we have to start cutting them out and get some clean sheets.

“Wakefield are a very very good side but we had almost done the hard work then shot ourselves in the foot.

“It’s happening throughout the team too often this season.

“It’s come back to haunt us.

“I am happy with a hell of a lot of it but we’ve come away with nothing because we didn’t do our jobs for 90 minutes.”

Town are third, nine points behind leaders Horbury Town with two games in hand. Rose said: “It’s a long season.

“We know there will be ups and downs. There is not much margin for error.

“You have to win at home and win when you’re on top. We have a lot of injuries at the moment, six key people out. We have to bounce back from this loss and get on another run. We need to get back in contact with Horbury who have been phenomenal. We are still in a good position with games in hand.”
