TWO more Barnsley thugs have been jailed for their ‘brutish behaviour’ at the protest in Manvers last month.
Ashley Lowe, 19, of North Street, was one of several thugs who entered the hotel during the disorder.
He was also caught kicking riot shields and throwing missiles at police officers.
Despite claiming he didn’t do anything while inside the hotel, Lowe pleaded guilty to violent disorder.
He was sentenced to two years and two months detention at a young offender institution at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday.
Also seen in the mob attacking police officers was Callum Smith.
The 23-year-old, of Dartree Walk in Darfield, was caught on CCTV repeatedly kicking officers’ riot shields, throwing various objects and kicking a police van.
Smith had been wearing a balaclava to hide his identity and ensure he wasn’t held responsible for his violent crimes, however footage of him arriving at the hotel showed him without the face covering leading to his arrest.
He pleaded guilty to violent disorder last Thursday and was jailed for two years and eight months.
