BERNESLAI Homes’ bosses have welcomed the Grenfell Tower Inquiry’s report for stronger regulation.

The tragic fire in London killed 72 people on June 14, 2017.

Since then, a number of inquiries have taken place and the Grenfell Tower Inquiry published its phase two report recently - with bosses at Berneslai Homes saying they have been keeping a close eye on it.

A spokesperson said: “Keeping tenants safe is our number one priority.

“We welcome the report’s recommendations for stronger regulation and while there are no new recommendations for social landlords within this report given legal changes already in place, we recognise how important our role is in making sure anyone with concerns is listened to and those concerns are acted upon. ( “While none of our properties have the cladding that was present at Grenfell Tower, we encourage anyone with any concerns about a Berneslai Homes property to contact us immediately.( “You can raise concerns about building safety, repairs, or fire safety with us by emailing firesafety@berneslaihomes.co.uk or phoning 787878 and ask for the fire safety officer.

“We’ve already taken steps to make sure our homes remain safe places for people to live.

“This includes working closely with residents in our high-rise residential buildings.

“Together we’ve heard their ideas, shared information and put in place improvements for everyone’s safety.”
