A MAN who admitted throwing an object at Reform UK leader Nigel Farage in Barnsley town centre has been handed a suspended prison sentence.
Josh Greally, of Damsbrook Drive, Clowne, was charged for using threatening, abusive, insulting words and behaviour with intent to cause fear or provoke unlawful violence following the incident in the town centre.
The 28-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence at a previous court hearing, and was handed six-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
He was also ordered to complete 120 hours of unpaid work and 20 rehabilitation requirement days.
He will pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £154 at a rate of £50 per month.
