A ROYSTON bodybuilder has followed in his dad’s footsteps by being named Mr Europe at an event in Italy earlier this month.
Kyle Weiss, 36, has been training to become a bodybuilder since he was 14 - and his dad Terry has won it all.
Terry picked up the sport in the 1980s after finding a weightlifting gym and soon became hooked.
In 1985 he placed third in his first competition and since then, the accolades haven’t stopped coming for Terry.
In total he estimates he has won around 90 trophies which he proudly displays in his Mapplewell home.
But it’s now his son’s turn to pick up the family obsession - and following an event in Sapri in Italy earlier this month he was named Mr Europe in the IBFA Bodybuilding Championships.
Kyle told the Chronicle: “I did my first Mr Universe competition in 2022 and I came second.
“I thought I’d go back this time for the win but I came second again, this time to an Italian bodybuilder.
“The next day I took part in the Mr Europe competition and won.
“It was a dream come true.
“I had my wife and all the children to come and watch me.”
Kyle said he’s incredibly proud to have followed in his dad’s footsteps - and he’s been celebrating ever since.
“I was on a diet for 14 weeks and I didn’t have a coach so I prepped myself,” he added.
“I’ve been eating loads since I came back.
“We went to Disney Land afterwards so I guess that was the celebration.
“My dad won the Mr World, Mr Universe and Mr Europe crown so it was a proud moment to do the same.”
