TWO volunteers for Andy’s Man Club are organising a charity event to help promote their work.
Lewis Russell and David Hewitt - who are facilitators for the Barnsley and Wombwell-based clubs respectively - have organised a charity night for September 13 with live music and a raffle.
Established in 2016, Andy’s Man Club offers a space for men over the age of 18 to meet, connect and talk about their issues - there are three groups in Barnsley and more than 190 across the country.
At the charity night in September, there will be six acts performing for the night at Harborough Hill Social Club on Vernon Street.
“It’s all to raise money and make people aware of the clubs,” Lewis told the Chronicle.
“I’ve been going since February and it helps me.
“Suicide still takes far too many lives, and maybe if we can help more people know about Andy’s Man Club we might lower that number.”
