THE local rugby union season is over now... so we have delved back in time to unearth these cracking pictures from the 1950s and 60s...
Barnsley RUFC managed to preserve their Yorkshire Three status with a stunning win on the final day of this season and Wath RUFC have secured promotion to the top-flight of Yorkshire.
Now based at Shaw Lane, Barnsley once called Stairfoot their home, on what is now the Tesco site.
These pictures are from those days and show both their first and second team sides some still in the blue, white and red jerseys that they proudly wear to this day.
The other jerseys appear to be white - we would not want to be washing those after a few muddy scrums!
