AN English teacher at Barnsley College is hoping his first published novel will inspire youngsters to write their own stories.
Daniel Pugsley, 36, of West Melton, currently teaches English as a foreign language to students at Barnsley College’s Old Mill Lane campus.
He’s hoping that his first published book, Son of Babylon, will get some of his students into writing creatively.
He told the Chronicle: “I teach English at Barnsley College and I work with 16, 17 and 18 year olds - I wanted to do something to inspire them.
“The book is historical fictions and it’s set in ancient Babylon.
“This is my first novel but it’s always been something I’ve been interested in doing.
“I used to write for a website in New Zealand and that gave me a lot of confidence to do this.
“I like to read historical fiction and that’s why I wrote this - I wanted to write something I care about.”
The book can be found on Amazon.
