BARNSLEY Museums has teamed up with the National Trust to host a community toy swap to help people with the cost of Christmas.
The event will take place at Wentworth Castle Gardens next Thursday and Friday, and then at the Glass Works’ museum on December 8 and 9.
Residents are being encouraged to attend and swap their old toys from some new gifts.
Those donating toys to Wentworth Castle will receive free admission to explore the site.
Coun Robert Frost, cabinet spokesperson for regeneration and culture, said: “We are delighted to be working with our partners at the National Trust.
“It’s an excellent way for unused toys to get a second lease of life.
“It comes at a perfect time with Christmas just around the corner and a great way to get some new toys that children will love.
“It’s also a great way to reduce waste and find joy in preloved purchasing.”
