WE have been made aware of a major incident unfolding on Coronation Avenue in Grimethorpe.
Residents have informed the Chronicle that nearby houses may have been evacuated and emergency services are currently at the scene.
Bomb disposal vans have also been reported on the street.
A spokesperson from South Yorkshire Police said: “Officers are currently dealing with an incident on Coronation Avenue in Grimethorpe.
“While emergency services carry out their work, Coronation Road and Queens Street are both closed.
“Please use an alternative route. We will continue to update you.”
