A BARNSLEY girl is appearing in a gaming advert being shown around the world.
Ruby Robinson, of Lineside Lane, Royston, flew to Bucharest, Romania to film an advert for Nintendo Switch. The 11-year-old, who goes to Holy Trinity Primary in Carlton, has been part of CAST Academy in Maltby since March of this year.
Ruby’s mum, Vicki Linford, said an agent put the year six pupil forward for an audition in London, before the family were told Ruby had got the part.
“After that audition we heard a week later that she was successful in getting the part she auditioned for,” said Vicki, 34.
“We had four days to arrange flights and everything but luckily the agents did all of that.”
The advert was filmed in August but was released globally at the end of November on both YouTube and Instagram.
“Ruby is really proud of herself and so are we,” said Vicki.
“That was her first casting and it has really boosted her confidence as well. She has danced since she was five in Middletons in Cudworth. She’s more a dancer and a singer than an actress really, but she has taken to it very well.
“Everyone is so excited for her.”
