THE SNOWY weather decimated the running calendar this week, but a few Barnsley runners still found races.

Penistone Footpath Runner Jill Scrivens completed her 150th ParkRun at the Roundhay Park event, finishing 32-31.

She was joined by club-mates John and Jane Lawcock and Mandy Mallinder.

Barnsley AC’s Rob Spedding and Kris Brown were amongst the 690 runners who braved the snow and ice on Roundhay’s B course

Rob’s time was 26-57 while Kris finished in 28:07.

Barnsley AC’s Caron Holburt escaped the cold weather to complete Claisebrook Cove ParkRun at Perth waterfront in Australia with a time of 34-04.

Keith Gordon travelled north of the border into Scotland to complete Crichton ParkRun in Dumfries, getting round in 26-56.

Topping the age-graded charts this week was Penistone’s Dawn Broom with 81 per cent, thanks to a 23-42 effort at Sherwood Pines ParkRun.

Before the snow hit, Penistone’s Mary Elizabeth competed in the Tatton Park 10k, earning a PB with a time of 52-53.
