POOR weather failed to dampen the spirits over revellers who turned out for the town’s gay pride festival.
It was the eighth year the celebratory event has been held, with the LGBT Forum, Project night club and Hope House Church working together to make the festival a goer.
The poor weather failed to dampen the spirits of about a thousand partygoers who turned out on the day, which kicked off on Wortley Street at noon and ran until early evening before the official after party got underway at Project on Wellington Street.
Andrew Bogg, from the LGBT Forum, said: “Considering it only took six weeks to plan and execute I feel that Project absolutely pulled it off.”
