A BARNSLEY' man known to many as Mr Car Radio has died at the age of 84.
Alan Storey was well known to many in the town as a pioneer of the early days of car radio.
He ran the Car Radio Centre just off the Townend Roundabout in Dodworth Road for 45 years.
Alan was also known as the man who saved Rayley Street baths when he conducted research to discover that the building belonged to the people of Barnsley and was therefore protected.
His nephew Nigel thanked staff at Barnsley Hospital who cared for Alan during the short illness which led to his death.
