Callum Simpson’s manager Kevin Maree says the super-middleweight will soon be back at Oakwell if everything goes to plan on Saturday night.
The British and Commonwealth champion, 28, is making the first defence of his belts on Saturday night at the Canon Medical Arena in Sheffield.
Opponent Steed Woodall, from Birmingham, will prove a stern test but one Maree fully expects Simpson to get past.
Maree said: "It is a tough start to the year. Steed is a fighter we’re taking very, very seriously.
“He’s a very competent fighter and is coming off a fantastic win over Lerrone Richards who we rate very highly.
“It’s going to be a tough night at the office but one where we expect him to shine again.
“He is never going to be in an easy fight now until the end of his career.
“With it being a nice compact arena, the atmosphere is going to be outstanding.”
Maree along with promotional company Boxxer and Sky Sports helped put on the show at Oakwell last August when Simpson won the belts with a win against Zak Chelli.
He said bigger nights could be yet to come at Oakwell.
He added: "We were so blessed with the weather all week and it created this carnival atmosphere and Barnsley was superb.
“They put on a fantastic show for us and it’s certainly something that will live with me until I finish in this sport.
“We want to do it again. We need to get through this fight and then go back again.
“If everything goes according to plan, Oakwell will be Callum’s new office and he will be there regularly."
