The trial of a man accused of murder starts in Sheffield today.

 

John Green, of Colley Crescent, Kendray was charged with murder following the death of Sammy Haughton, 29, in December.

 

The former Kingstone pupil, who had a young daughter, Charlize, died of stab wounds.

 

Sammy had two brothers, Stephen and Thomas, and a sister, Sarah. He had been a talented footballer and played as a centre-half for Sheffield United under-16s.

 

His parents Pam, 56, and Steve, 58, live at Daleswood Drive, Worsbrough Dale.
