BARNSLEY Women’s FC reached the semi-final of the Sheffield Senior Cup with a 5-1 away win against Huddersfield Town reserves.
Jodie Snelson scored the first four then the hosts added an own goal.
They are due to play Huddersfield’s first team in the last four, and could still face Barnsley FC women in the final.
Manager Craige Richardson said: “Credit to the opposition, they worked really hard and made the first half difficult.
“We should have taken chances in the first half but the resilience showed through in the second.
“Anybody who plays against Jodie needs to be aware of her movement, she’s clinical and she brings a lot to our team.
“I think the squad deserves something this year.
“We’ve had a lot of ups and downs but this cup is a good opportunity to have something to be proud of.”
The Reds now return to league action when they host Worcester City in the National League Division One Midlands on Sunday at Steel City Stadium in Sheffield.
